Port Rename

Well here we go again! To add to all of the name changes we’ve been dealing with over the past year, here is another one! Due to Port being an EU protected name, effective January 1, 2014 any subsequent production of our Cru Select Specialty Port styles, with be renamed to Dessert Wine. (ie: Orange Chocolate Dessert Wine, Toasted Caramel Dessert Wine, etc..)
Have no fear, we still have the Port you know and love, it just has a different name now.

A few other big name changes to take note of:

Barolo is now Nebbiolo

Brunello is now Sangiovese

Chianti is now Sangiovese Merlot

What else is new?

What else is new with Conner’s Wine Cellar? Well, we’re glad you asked!

We now have 2 fully-functioning wine bottling stations, equipped with their own automatic corkers! What this means is that in our super busy seasons, we are able to have 2 bottlers at the same time if need be, OR if you have more than one batch of wine to bottle, and you bring enough helpers, you can bottle both batches at the same time to save time!

The other big addition is our bottle washing machine! This bottle washer washes, rinses, and sanitizes  all your bottles in one easy step! The bottle washing machine is best suited for those bottles that have been sitting in your garage for a while, or perhaps you forgot to rinse your bottles after emptying them.  For those cleaner bottles that just need a quick rinse, the 12 bottle rinser is still available if you prefer, and you will still need to squirt the sulphite into your bottles before filling them. (The potassium metabisulphite is the stuff that pulls the oxygen out of the bottle so your wine lasts longer) Either way, it’s nice to have options, right?
